I want to start off by saying I am an equities trader. I mainly trade Spy, TQQQ and SQQQ.

I gathered enough money throughout the years before I started day trading so that I wouldn’t have to worry about the PDT rule.

However, because of that, I’ve never dug into day trading utilizing options. From my understanding, options is the way to go for small accounts.

All the communities I’ve joined are full of options day traders. And almost all the time, they post 5-30% gains on 1 contract on Spy.

My question; is it really what it seems to be? If I start day trading with options utilizing 1K, is it normal and easy to achieve 5-30% gains with a backtested and proven strategy?

Sorry if this sounds stupid but I’ve never dived into options.
